Wrangell Marine Service Center

The Wrangell Marine Service Center is a cornerstone of Southeast Alaska’s working waterfront, serving as a vital hub for vessel repair, haul-out, and upland storage. Strategically located on the former mill site along the downtown waterfront, this self-service facility is designed to support both commercial and recreational vessel owners with flexible access to repair, maintenance, and upgrade services.

With consistent haul-out activity exceeding 280 vessels annually, the facility plays a critical role in Wrangell’s maritime economy. Key infrastructure includes a 150-ton marine travel lift, a 300-ton ASCOM boat lift (accommodating vessels up to 26.5 feet in beam), a 40-ton hydraulic trailer, an EPA/DEC-approved washdown pad, and paved uplands with capacity for over 85 vessels. Limited winter storage is available for vessels under 40 tons, and short- or long-term leased upland space may be available by request.

Owners can work on their vessels independently or coordinate with skilled local vendors offering fabrication, welding, mechanical, coatings, and marine electrical services. Located within walking distance of downtown, the Marine Service Center reflects Wrangell’s long-standing commitment to building and maintaining a diversified, year-round economy anchored in marine trades, fisheries, and transportation.

For haul-out reservations, storage inquiries, vendor listings, or operating guidelines, visit the Services & Equipment and Agreements & Use Policies sections of this website or contact the Harbor Office directly.
